A History of Resistance and Climate Justice

United by the Earth.
Driven by Justice.

Since 1992, with the Global Forum, the Peoples’ Summit has stood as a powerful cry of resistance, echoing the voices silenced by inequality.

In this space of struggle and hope, indigenous, traditional, and marginalized communities – those who have contributed the least to the climate crisis but suffer its impacts the most – finally have the chance to be heard.

While official COPs continue to focus on numbers and targets, the Summit speaks of lives, rights, and territories. Here, we are building a future grounded in social and environmental justice, showing that our struggle is both urgent and necessary.

Since 1992, the Peoples’ Summit has stood as a powerful cry of resistance, echoing the voices silenced by inequality.

In this space of struggle and hope, indigenous, traditional, and marginalized communities – those who have contributed the least to the climate crisis but suffer its impacts the most – finally have the chance to be heard.

While official COPs continue to focus on numbers and targets, the Summit speaks of lives, rights, and territories. Here, we are building a future grounded in social and environmental justice, showing that our struggle is both urgent and necessary.

The Summit is a call to action for a fair and solidarity-based transition, where no one is left behind.

Since August 2023, we have been working together to create proposals that reflect the strength and realities of communities often excluded from decision-making processes.

In Belém, the Amazonia becomes more than just a biome – it stands as a powerful symbol of resistance and the fight for climate justice.

This is a space where traditional practices are honored, and the voices of those who live in the forest are amplified.

Here, every idea and experience is vital in building a future that respects all peoples.
