Belém, Brasil — A Cúpula dos Povos mobilizou 70.000 pessoas nas ruas de Belém em 15 de novembro, para dizer aos líderes do mundo: da Amazônia para o mundo — basta de desigualdade e racismo ambiental! Na semana anterior, a Cúpula dos Povos reuniu 24.000 integrantes de comunidades e movimentos de base — incluindo povos indígenas, comunidades de linha de frente, movimentos por justiça climática, pessoas LGBTQIA+, juventudes, pescadores, camponeses, trabalhadores e feministas — que caminharam juntos carregando sua indignação, esperança e demandas por mudança sistêmica e justiça climática.
As crises climática, social e política são resultado de um sistema capitalista, racista e patriarcal que destrói territórios, vidas e direitos. Povos da Amazônia, do Brasil e do mundo se encontraram em Belém para afirmar um projeto político de solidariedade e internacionalismo popular, capaz de deter o avanço da extrema direita e exigir soluções climáticas dos povos — caminhos reais para garantir justiça climática, soberania dos povos e uma transição justa, popular e inclusiva construída a partir dos territórios.

Belém, Brazil — On 15 November, the Peoples’ Summit mobilised 70,000 people on the streets of Belém to send a clear message to world leaders: from the Amazon to the world — end inequality and environmental racism now.
Over the previous week, the Summit brought together 25,000 grassroots communities and movements, including Indigenous peoples, frontline communities, climate justice movements, queer and trans people, youth groups, fisherfolk, peasants, workers and feminists. Together, they walked carrying their rage, hope, and demands for system change and climate justice.
The climate, social and political crises arise from a capitalist, racist and patriarchal system that destroys territories, lives and rights. Peoples of the Amazon, Brazil and the world came together in Belém to affirm a political project rooted in solidarity and popular internationalism — to halt the advance of the far right and to demand people’s climate solutions: real pathways to climate justice, people’s sovereignty, and a just, popular and inclusive transition built from the territories.

Join the Peoples’ Summit to hear movements’ perspectives on the politics of the “inside” versus the lived realities of the peoples; to learn about the Declaration and the solutions put forward to confront the social and environmental crisis; and to be inspired by how the Summit will carry this process beyond COP30, building a global movement for climate justice.
